David Zuniga works as an interfaith hospital chaplain for an interdisciplinary medical case management team serving high-risk cancer patients. As the chaplain, he oversees the palliative care program and focuses the majority of his time on end-of-life care. He also does grant writing, and facilitates meditation groups and seminars on stress reduction for patients and healthcare professionals.

David is one of the first Buddhist practitioners to become a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains. He earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Harvard Divinity School, and also holds a Master of Arts in English Literature. He is the former co-director of the Harvard Buddhist Community, and has published articles on religion and spirituality in both the United States and South Korea.

Metta Zen Center Meditation Group description:
Our one-hour practice period consists of 30 minutes of discussion followed by 30 minutes of silent meditation. Discussions will cover topics ranging from meditation techniques to the principles of Buddhism. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Chairs and meditation props will be provided, but feel free to bring your own cushions if you prefer. People from all backgrounds and levels of experience are welcome. David Zuniga (Dae-il Sunim) is the first westerner to be ordained as a monk in the Taego Order, one of the two main lineages of Son (Korean Zen) Buddhism. He was ordained at Sonamsa Temple in South Korea.
